Workout Gear from Forever 21

A huge Forever 21 opened up recently in our mall.  I like to stop in there every now and then to look for a few cheap trendy pieces.  Well now F21 has added an active line!  Let me tell you it's great!  They have everything...cute sports bras, shorts, tanks, tees, leggings and all in fun, bright colors.  I just had to share since my everyday apparel is workout gear, and I'm always looking for fun new stuff at great prices.  Lululemon is amazing but c'mon!  So expensive!
Check this stuff out.  New workout clothes always inspire a better workout, right?!  ;)

My Summer Staple

Wow, two posts in one week!  What's going on?!  It's been a while since I've done a fashion post, so I thought I'd share my summer staple since summer is upon us.  SHORTS!  I have a weakness for a cute pair of shorts.  It's one of those things that I say I don't need any more of and what do I buy?  More shorts.  Especially chasing after 2 little ones, I wear them pretty much every day.  They're so versatile too.  It's so easy to dress them up for a night out.
Here are my finds for Summer...
I added this one in red to my collection.
These look amazing with a striped tank or chambray shirt.
I add a cute flip flop or gladiator sandal for a casual look.
How cute is this print?  These shorts are also very versatile.
I will definitely dress these up with a cute wedge.

And here's my go to chino.
I seriously don't think I could ever have too many of my fave J.Crew Chinos.
I buy a pair in a new color each year.  These are classic and will never go out of style.  I have fun mixing and matching colors.

Last but not least...
I have been looking everywhere since last Spring for an asymmetrical skort.
I love them!  I finally found one at Express.

A Wonderful Mother's Day Weekend

I just had to post about the wonderful weekend we had.  First of all I am truly blessed to be the mother of 2 healthy, bright, spunky little boys with such a passion for life!  Even though it's so hard at times to stay at home, it is so worth it.  I am fortunate I am able to do so.  I do cherish these precious moments with my boys and love seeing them grow and learn every day.

On to our weekend...
Honestly it doesn't happen often that we have a productive weekend with the little ones around.  For example, last weekend we attempted to get some flowers for our yard at K-Mart and a total meltdown (from both boys) ensued.  I mean like screaming crying like we were beating them to death...so embarrassing!!  Of course everyone gives us the control your kid stares and what's wrong with your kid looks.  It gets really frustrating when you feel like you can't leave the house because you're scared of a meltdown or of losing control of both.  Even when I have a helping hand it still can be near impossible to handle them both.  I am very thankful this weekend was a lot better!
Mom came for a couple of days to help.  I've been dying to take the boys to the zoo but am a little apprehensive of taking them by myself.  Since I had mom's help, we decided to try it Friday morning.  It was a successful trip to the zoo but I am thankful I had an extra set of hands.  Thanks Mom!

The highlight of our trip to the zoo was the "truck"
Saturday morning was the gym as usual then we hit up Chipotle for an early lunch.  We only were able to do this because a) it was early and not crowded and b) we could sit outside in the fenced in area so the boys could run around while we ate.  We were feeling brave so we continued our morning with a trip to Garden Ridge.  I've been dying to update our patio (or concrete slab lol) to make it more cozy and livable since the boys are outside a lot more.  We found everything we needed and at great prices!  Happy Mother's Day to me!  I had no idea Garden Ridge had so much!  Of course it was difficult with the boys but thank goodness no meltdowns occurred.  You should have seen us with all the furniture on the cart, Eli riding on top and Van trying to run away.  We are quite the sight!  I wish I had an extra hand to take a pic but as you might guess my hands were quite full.  Adam and I were able to get a quick date night in Saturday night.  We had a fab dinner at our favorite spot, Sushi Koji.  It never disappoints.
Sunday morning we decided to skip church (again) and do an early breakfast at Bojangle's (the boys first Bo's experience) and get all the errands done for the week early since we wanted to take the boys to the pool after naps.  Our pool opened this weekend so of course we're dying to go!  I was so thankful for a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with my boys!

New patio furniture makes Mommy really happy!  :)

And yes I will be purchasing a bin to put all the toys in.

Anniversary Weekend Getaway

Adam and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary last Wednesday.  We were lucky enough to get the chance to get away last weekend and go to our fave place...Charleston.  It was fabulous!  I hadn't had a break from the kiddos in quite some time, so I was in desperate need of a vacay and some down time.  I can't even explain how wonderful it is to not have a schedule and just worry about yourself for a little bit.

We stayed at the Market Pavilion Hotel and by some crazy fluke found an amazing deal on the concierge floor!  I didn't even realize it until we got there.  I was actually skeptical at first because it seemed to good to be true.  Let me just tell y'all it was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Charleston.  Everything was absolutely perfect!  Just what Mamma needed!!

Here are some pics of our weekend...

We kicked off our weekend with a delicious lunch at Morgan Creek
What a glorious day!

I have been dying to check out the downtown location of Taco Boy.  Since we had time to kill before check in, we decided to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful afternoon on their awesome patio!

Our room was perfection!  The service was amazing and we had everything we needed and more!

I'm obsessed with bath tubs so I was thrilled there was one in our room.

The best part of the trip was having a leisurely morning sipping coffee and lounging in bed.

I took full advantage of the provided bathrobe and slippers.

Look who we ran into!
It just so happened that Aunt Kathy aka Kathy Miller Time was in Charleston the same time we were.  I was so excited we were able to meet up and have lunch!  It was so good to see her!!

Tailgating Through the South

We managed to snag a couple of prime spots poolside Saturday afternoon.

Happy Hour H'orderves and Champagne
(another perk of the concierge floor)

We thought about venturing out to a new restaurant Saturday night, but decided against it and boy am I glad we did!  Best meal ever at Basil Thai...Tilapia and Shrimp!  Hands down the best meal I've had in a long time!!  Fabulous!  We devoured it before I could even think about taking a pic.

Sunday before we left we took a long walk around the battery and downtown area.  I just love admiring all the beauty down there.  I swear I could walk around all day.

It was a wonderful getaway.  It's amazing what a few days away will do for the soul.  Everything was perfect and as always I was sad to leave, but was so ready to see my little fellas.  Fortunately they didn't kill their grandparents.  ;)

xoxo
